Week April 30 to May 4, 2007

This week in the tech lab you will find students working on National Education Technology Standards 3.0 and 4.0.

Mrs. Hansen’s homeroom and switch classes will be investigating temperature change in the Tahoe City area. The students will use the Internet to locate the data from NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Working in groups, they will then enter the data in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and create graphs showing the temperature change over the last 100 years!

Mrs. Leatherman’s homeroom and switch classes will be using Comic Life to create a comic strip showing the sequence of events for their assigned Greek myth. What fun!

Mrs. Schaffnit’s homeroom and switch classes will be podcasting! They will be working in pairs, using GarageBand to create podcasts about Darwin and other science topics in Chapters 8 and 9 of their science books.

Week of April 23 - April 27, 2007

This week in the tech lab you will find students working on National Education Technology Standards 3.0 and 4.0.

Mrs. Mock’s homeroom and switch classes investigating temperature change in the Tahoe City area. The students will use the Internet to locate the data from NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Working in groups, they will then enter the data in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and create graphs showing the temperature change over the last 100 years!

Mrs. McMaster’s homeroom and switch classes will be using Microsoft PowerPoint to prepare a presentation showing how the the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church are similar and different, complete with a Venn Diagram.

Mrs. Stephens’s homeroom and switch classes will be polishing their Microsoft PowerPoint presentations on “Life through Time” with transitions, animations, and timing. The students have been adding information from their science studies to this presentation throughout the school year.

Legomation Club will meet this Friday, April 6, at 2:30 p.m. in the Tech Lab!
