Ms. Brittain graduated magna cum laude from Fresno State University with a major in English and a minor in Physical Education.  She began teaching at North Tahoe in 1976. Throughout her teaching career, Ms. Brittain has completed graduate course work at UNR, Sac. State, and Cal. Poly, San Luis Obispo.

In the summer, Ms. Brittain has served as a wilderness ranger for the USFS in the Mokelumne Wilderness and in the Desolation Wilderness. She has climbed Mt. Rainier and Mt. Shasta. She has also travelled to Machu Piccu, Morocco, Nepal, and Europe.

Ms. Brittain loves teaching, especially 7th graders. In addition she loves golfing, cross country skiing and practicing yoga.
