About
Mrs. Stephens grew up in Gretna, Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans. She graduated with a business degree in 1985 from the University of Southwestern
Louisiana–home of the Ragin’ Cajuns.
She and Mr. Stephens happily relocated to Truckee in 1987. They now have two daughters.
In 1993, Mrs. Stephens decided to leave the corporate world, attended Sierra Nevada College for her teaching credential, and completed her student teaching at Glenshire Elementary, first grade. After two long term substitute positions, Mrs. Stephens shared a sixth grade position at Sierra Mountain Middle School for three years. She started teaching 7th grade in 2003, and has happily settled into a Math and Science teacher.
